Ford Philippines has expanded its Everest lineup with the Everest Sport Special Edition launch, a refreshed variant aimed at SUV buyers who want a bold, modern design without giving up practicality or performance.

Based on the existing Everest Sport trim, this limited-edition model brings a handful of cosmetic upgrades to one of Ford’s most popular nameplates in the Philippines.

Design: A sportier take on a familiar favorite
The Everest Sport Special Edition gets an exterior overhaul that emphasizes sporty aesthetics.

Notable additions include a black roof and spoiler, 20-inch black alloy wheels highlighted with red accents, and distinctive “Everest” hood badging. It’s available in two colors: Aluminum Metallic and Snowflake White Pearl, starting at P2,194,000.

These enhancements boost curb appeal, especially for those who prefer their SUVs to make a stronger visual statement. The signature C-clamp LED daytime running lights continue to define the front end, lending a rugged yet refined look.

Interior & tech: Comfort meets convenience
Inside, the Special Edition retains the Everest Sport’s spacious and well-appointed cabin.

Combining leather and synthetic leather seats with sporty accents adds a touch of sophistication. Tech-wise, it features a 10-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4A, a wireless charging pad, and a power liftgate—all geared toward modern comfort and convenience.

FordPass compatibility is another bonus. It allows users to remotely control key functions like starting the engine, locking/unlocking doors, and checking vehicle status via a mobile app.

Performance: Capable but unchanged
There are no changes under the hood. It continues to use the 2.0L Turbo Diesel engine, delivering 170 PS and 405 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 4×2 drivetrain.

This setup ensures decent performance for daily driving and light off-road excursions, although those seeking more power or 4×4 capability may need to look at higher trims.

Safety: Solid but standard
The Everest Sport Special Edition is equipped with a respectable list of safety features, including seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Launch Assist, Roll Over Mitigation, and more.

While comprehensive, these features are largely standard across the lineup and don’t particularly elevate the Special Edition beyond its peers in this regard.

Final verdict: Form over function?
The Ford Everest Sport Special Edition is a compelling choice for buyers who value bold styling and a well-rounded feature set in a 7-seater SUV. However, it’s worth noting that the upgrades are primarily aesthetic.

Underneath the eye-catching design, this model offers the same performance and interior amenities as the regular Everest Sport.

Pros:

  • Striking black-themed design with unique accents
  • Tech-rich cabin with SYNC 4A and FordPass
  • Trusted diesel engine performance
  • 5-year warranty and solid safety features

Cons:

  • No mechanical or performance enhancements
  • Limited color options
  • Lacks 4×4 capability
  • Premium price tag for largely cosmetic changes

Overall Rating: 7.5/10The Ford Everest Sport Special Edition delivers a visual upgrade that will appeal to style-conscious SUV buyers.

While it doesn’t break new ground mechanically, its limited-edition appeal, modern tech, and bold design make it a notable addition to Ford’s SUV lineup.
