Rather than simply reading guides or watching tutorials, families can explore Roblox together, helping parents better understand how the platform works while creating opportunities for meaningful conversations about digital safety.
Family Zone was built on a simple idea: the best way to understand Roblox is to experience it firsthand. While many parents are familiar with online gaming, not all are confident navigating Roblox’s unique ecosystem of immersive experiences, safety settings, and parental controls. The new experience aims to bridge that gap by making learning interactive, accessible, and enjoyable.
More than just a tutorial, Family Zone encourages co-play between generations. Children take on the role of digital guides, introducing their parents to the basics of navigating a 3D environment, controlling avatars, and exploring virtual spaces. The company is collaborating with global safety experts and leading organizations to develop new interactive modules focused on scam prevention, bullying awareness, and identifying and avoiding predatory behavior online.
Among its key partnerships is Koko, a leading mental health nonprofit, alongside Playerthree and researchers from the Lab for Scalable Mental Health at Northwestern University. Together, they are developing experiences designed to help children and teens build resilience when facing bullying and other online challenges.
