Rainy Saturday across PH due to 3 weather systems

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday advised residents in several parts of the country to prepare for continued rainfall driven by the shear line, the northeast monsoon, and the easterlies.

In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, the state weather bureau reported that the shear line is affecting a broad area of Luzon. Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Camarines Norte.

Meanwhile, the easterlies—warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean—are bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Mindanao, specifically in Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Sarangani, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these regions could trigger flash floods or landslides.

In Northern Luzon, the northeast monsoon (amihan) continues to prevail, bringing isolated light rains to Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily caused by the easterlies.

Coastal conditions remain moderate over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and the Visayas.

The rest of the country can expect slight to moderate seas.
