Rainy weather is expected to persist across the country on Monday, Feb. 16, as three weather systems continue to influence conditions nationwide, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa reported that the shear line is set to affect parts of northern Luzon.
The weather bureau said Cagayan and Isabela may experience scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, or amihan, is forecast to bring light rains to Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes, and the Babuyan Islands.
Pagasa added that the easterlies are likely to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Aurora and Quezon.
These weather systems may also cause isolated rain showers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
The agency warned of possible flooding and landslides in areas that may be affected by moderate to heavy rainfall, particularly those under the influence of the shear line and easterlies.
Pagasa said no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone is being monitored within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
