Despite leading in survey of ‘presidentiables’ in the 2028 elections, former broadcaster and incumbent senator Rafael ‘Raffy’ Tulfo categorically stated that he will not be running for president in the 2028 national and local elections (NLE).
In an interview, the veteran journalist cleared the issue on his plans for 2028 as he stressed that he is well content with his current work in the Senate and believes he can still serve better in his present position, by reelection.
“Una sa lahat, buong pakumbaba ako po’y nagpapasalamat sa tiwala. Pero I said it before and I’m going to say it again, wala po akong balak na tumakbo as President sa 2028,” Tulfo pointed out.
He added that “(he) believes (he’s) doing very well as senator and can do a lot more as (a lawmaker).
“Therefore, maaasahan niyo reelectionist ako sa 2028. (My) decision is final and not subject to change,” he noted firmly.
Tulfo likewise ruled out any plans of running for vice president as hee asserted that he was clearly happy being a member of the Senate.
