A lone bettor from Metro Manila is starting the new year as a multi-millionaire after clinching the 19 million pesos jackpot in the Lotto 6/42 draw held Tuesday night.
In an advisory released Wednesday, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office announced that the winning ticket was purchased in Barangay Unang Sigaw, Balintawak, Quezon City.
The bettor successfully matched the winning combination of 06-32-29-24-37-04 to secure a total prize of P19,004,723.60.
Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Law, the winner will receive a net amount lower than the total jackpot as all lotto winnings exceeding 10,000 pesos are subject to a 20 percent tax.
The winner has one year from the draw date to claim the prize at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City by presenting the winning ticket and valid identification.
While only one person hit the jackpot, several other players also won secondary prizes. A group of 19 bettors will receive P24,000 each for matching five digits of the winning combination.
The draw also produced 955 winners of P800 each for matching four digits, while 17,674 other players won P20 each for three correct numbers.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles congratulated the winners and reminded the public that proceeds from ticket sales are used to fund national health programs and medical assistance for Filipinos in need.
The Lotto 6/42 is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
