Police arrested four suspected drug personalities and seized illegal drugs worth P173,468 in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Quezon City on January 29 and 30, authorities said.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), led by Acting District Director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio, carried out the operations through its station-based and district drug enforcement units.
Three suspects were arrested by operatives of Masambong Police Station late on January 30 at a residential area in Barangay Paltok following information provided by a concerned citizen regarding alleged illegal drug activities.
Recovered from the suspects were about 17 grams of suspected shabu valued at P115,600, around 2 grams of marijuana worth P240, buy-bust money, and a coin purse, police said.
In a separate operation on January 29, the District Drug Enforcement Unit arrested another suspect along Katipunan Road northbound near a commercial establishment in Barangay U.P. Campus.
Authorities said they seized more than 8 grams of suspected shabu valued at P57,868, along with buy-bust money and a coin purse. A background check showed that the suspect had a previous case for consummated robbery with attempted homicide.
The suspects were set to face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
