The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported Friday the capture of eight individuals listed as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) following a series of manhunt operations across the city.
The operations were carried out by multiple QCPD units, including the District Anti-Carnapping Unit, District Mobile Force Battalion, and local police stations.
Alias “Venchito,” 48, identified as the No. 3 Regional Level MWP, was apprehended on February 2 in San Bartolome. He faces charges of Qualified Rape and Acts of Lasciviousness issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
Alias “Armando,” 48, the No. 3 MWP of Police Station 8, had a warrant served on him at New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa on February 1 for Rape by Sexual Assault and Qualified Rape.
Other MWPs arrested include alias “John,” 26, charged with Robbery; alias “Ronnie,” 32, charged with Sexual Abuse; alias “Ronald,” 41, charged with Rape; alias “Lito,” 53, charged with Rape by Sexual Assault; alias “Mark Joseph,” 29, charged with Robbery; and alias “Arnold,” 51, charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (R.A. 9165).
The arrests took place between January 31 and February 3 at various locations in Quezon City, Makati, and Antipolo. Several of the suspects had prior records for similar offenses.
The QCPD said the courts of origin for the warrants of arrest will be informed of the apprehensions for proper legal proceedings.
The operation highlights the district’s intensified efforts to track down individuals wanted for serious crimes in the capital region.
PCOL Randy Glenn Silvio, Acting District Director of QCPD, commended the operatives for their work and assured the public that the police will continue pursuing those who violate the law.
