Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has approved a Php 50-million allocation for the purchase of additional medical equipment and facilities for public hospitals and health centers across the city.

The funding was approved during the 10th Local Health Board Meeting as part of the city government’s continuing efforts to strengthen healthcare services and improve access to medical care for Manila residents.

Among the equipment to be purchased are duplex scan machines, ultrasound machines, and anesthesia machines, which are expected to improve diagnostic capabilities and support medical procedures in city-run healthcare facilities.

The allocation will also cover desktop computers and air-conditioning units to improve administrative operations and conditions in hospitals and health centers.

Domagoso emphasized the city government’s commitment to investing in Minimum Basic Needs (MBN) programs, particularly healthcare, despite limited financial resources.

The mayor said improving public health services remains a priority as the local government works to ensure that hospitals and health centers have adequate equipment to meet the medical needs of residents.

The additional funding is expected to help strengthen the capacity of Manila’s public healthcare facilities to provide more accessible and efficient medical services.

The city government reiterated its commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure and ensuring that Manileños receive quality medical attention through continued investments in essential equipment and services.
