MANILA – The Quezon City government has recorded over 7,000 dengue cases and 41 related deaths from Jan. 1 to Nov. 3, even as infections dropped by 47 percent in the last two weeks, based on data from the city’s Epidemiology and Surveillance Division (QCESD).
In a social media post Thursday, the city government said 108 new cases were logged on Nov. 3, bringing the total number of infections to 7,192.
“Mas mababa ng 47 percent ang bilang ng mga kaso sa nakalipas na dalawang linggo (Oct. 21-Nov. 03, 2026). Mula sa 600 kaso na naitala noong Oktubre 7–20, bumaba ito sa 316 kaso noong October 21–November 3. Katumbas ito ng pagbaba ng daily average mula 43 cases tungo sa 23 cases per day (The number of cases decreased by 47 percent in the past two weeks [Oct. 21-Nov. 03]. From 600 cases recorded from October 7–20, it decreased to 316 cases from October 21–November 3. This is equivalent to a decrease in the daily average from 43 cases to 23 cases per day),” the QC government said.
“Sa kabila ng pagbaba ng mga kaso, patuloy na pinaaalalahanan ang publiko na huwag maging kampante at panatilihin ang mga hakbang upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng lamok na nagdadala ng dengue (Despite the decrease in cases, the public is continuously reminded not to be complacent and to maintain measures to prevent the increase of mosquitoes that carry dengue).”
The city government urged residents to continue taking precautions against dengue by covering water containers, removing objects that can collect stagnant water, disposing of garbage properly, and keeping their homes and surroundings clean.
The public was also advised to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest health center or hospital if they experience fever, headache, body and joint pains, or skin rashes. (Marita Moaje/PNA)
