The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Wednesday that 225 individuals were arrested during a weeklong anti-crime campaign in Quezon City.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) conducted the operations from February 15 to 21 as part of intensified efforts against criminality and illegal drugs.
Police carried out 50 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 73 suspects and the seizure of illegal substances valued at Php841,249.20.
Authorities also arrested 71 wanted persons, including 18 individuals listed as most wanted in various police stations.
Separate anti-gambling operations resulted in 74 arrests and the confiscation of bet money, while seven anti-illegal firearms operations led to the recovery of firearms and the arrest of seven suspects.
Among those apprehended were suspects identified by their aliases who had been evading arrest for several years in cases involving robbery, rape, child protection violations, and electricity pilferage.
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez praised the district’s performance and said the operations reflected the police force’s continued focus on public safety and law enforcement.
The PNP said the campaign formed part of its focused agenda and enhanced police operations program aimed at strengthening community security and public trust.
