The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) turned over a Mobile Material Recovery Facility (MMRF) truck to the Pasig City government on Tuesday, November 3, as part of efforts to strengthen waste management and recycling programs in the city.
The turnover ceremony was held at the Temporary Pasig City Hall, where local officials formally received the vehicle designed to support waste recovery and recycling operations.
Along with the MMRF truck, the MMDA provided essential grocery items, including canned goods, instant noodles, and soap, which residents may receive in exchange for recyclable materials.
The program aims to encourage households to practice proper waste segregation, promote recycling, and reduce the volume of garbage disposed of in the city.
Through the mobile recycling facility, the local government seeks to make recycling more accessible to communities while encouraging residents to participate in environmentally responsible waste management practices.
MMDA representatives Butch Caoyong and Felix Baculo led the turnover ceremony alongside the Pasig City mayor.
Other local government officials and Pasig City Solid Waste Management Office Head Allendri Angeles also attended the event to formally receive the truck.
The project forms part of continuing efforts by the MMDA and local government units to strengthen solid waste management programs and promote environmental sustainability across Metro Manila.
