PSA brings mobile National ID registration to Culasi Islands

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) extended its mobile national ID registration to island barangays in Culasi, Antique, to make government services more accessible to remote communities.

PSA-Antique Registration Officer III Chariza Misajon said they conducted mobile registration in Barangay Maniguin on October 28–29, serving 74 individuals, including 40 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.

The team will visit another island barangay, Batbatan, on November 6, targeting around 309 individuals, most of whom are also 4Ps beneficiaries.

“Without the mobile registration in the island barangays, 4Ps beneficiaries, as well as the other island residents, will have to go to the PSA provincial office in San Jose de Buenavista or wait for the schedule of the mobile registration in Culasi mainland,” Misajon said.

Residents without valid IDs are encouraged to register to secure one, which they can use for official transactions or in availing government assistance. For 4Ps households without birth certificates, the national ID may also be used to claim cash grants.

Earlier, the PSA also conducted mobile registration at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in San Jose de Buenavista on October 20, serving 59 persons deprived of liberty.
