Anti-drug operations in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) led to the destruction of marijuana plants valued at more than Php 43.6 million, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region conducted a series of eradication activities from April 26 to May 2 in Benguet, Kalinga, and Mountain Province.
A total of 18 operations were carried out during the week, including 16 in Benguet and one each in Kalinga and Mountain Province.
Police said the operations resulted in the removal of about 183,034 fully grown marijuana plants and 84,000 seedlings, along with 30,940 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops.
The confiscated and destroyed items were estimated to have a standard drug price of Php 43,679,000.
Data showed that Mountain Province recorded the highest value of marijuana eradicated, followed by Benguet and Kalinga.
The Philippine National Police said the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to address illegal drug activities, particularly in remote areas.
It added that similar operations would continue as part of broader initiatives to support peace and order.
