Port of Manila reaffirms commitment to trade efficiency and transparency

The Bureau of Customs Port of Manila (BOC-POM) reaffirmed its commitment to support the country’s trade and logistics ecosystem, pledging continued efficiency, transparency, and collaboration with importers and brokers as part of its drive to sustain economic growth.

In a message to stakeholders, BOC-POM Collector Alexander Gerard E. Alviar expressed gratitude to the port’s partners for their continued trust and cooperation.

“We deeply appreciate the confidence and partnership of our valued stakeholders, importers, and customs brokers,” Alviar said. “The Port of Manila remains fully committed and always ready to attend to your importation needs, ensuring efficient trade facilitation at all times.”

Alviar underscored that the Port’s operations—one of the busiest entry points for goods in the country—are guided by the principles of transparency and service excellence.

“With your cooperation, we continue to strengthen our services, promote transparency, and uphold excellence in every transaction,” he added. “Together, we can sustain the momentum of progress and make every shipment a success.”

The Port of Manila has been a central hub for the Bureau of Customs’ modernization efforts, including the rollout of digital platforms to streamline documentation, reduce processing time, and minimize physical contact in line with anti-corruption and trade facilitation goals.

Alviar emphasized that these initiatives align with the national government’s broader agenda to bolster logistics competitiveness and improve ease of doing business.

“The Port of Manila is more than just a gateway for goods—it is a partner in national development,” he said. “Our goal is to help businesses grow while ensuring that trade remains compliant, secure, and sustainable.”

The Port of Manila’s message comes as the BOC continues to push for higher revenue performance and deeper engagement with private sector players, particularly in supporting small and medium importers adapting to global supply chain changes.

“Port of Manila — Your Partner in Trade and Progress,” the statement concluded, reaffirming its vision of shared growth between government and the business community.
