Police arrest suspect in Palawan airport manager killing

Police apprehended a suspect in connection with the killing of former Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPIA) acting manager Joanna Infante on Monday evening.

The individual was taken into custody at 7:15 p.m. in Barangay San Miguel following a hot pursuit operation, authorities said.

Police are preparing the necessary documents to file murder charges against the suspect.

Investigators from the Special Investigation Task Group Infante continue to probe the case and conduct follow-up operations to identify other possible accomplices.

The arrest was described as a key development in the ongoing investigation, with authorities emphasizing the importance of ensuring the case can hold up in court.

Glenn Tripulca assumed his post as the new manager of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Area IV on Monday, replacing Mohammad Naga Rascal.

Rascal and two other Area IV officials were reassigned following the killing, with Rascal moved to the Office of the Deputy Director General for Operations at CAAP’s main office.

Lawyer Mark Anthony Garraez and Aviation Services Safety Officer Joselito Arzaga were transferred to Iloilo International Airport, while Christopher Enriquez was designated as the new airport manager of PPIA.
