White Beach ranked sixth in Asia in the latest Best of the Best Beaches list released by Tripadvisor.
The recognition formed part of the platform’s annual Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best, which were based on reviews and ratings submitted over a 12 month period.
Tripadvisor said the distinction was given to destinations that placed within the top one percent of its global listings during the review cycle.
White Beach was cited for its white sand shoreline, clear waters and sunset views, as well as its suitability for swimming and snorkeling.
The beach remained Boracay’s most prominent tourist area and continued to serve as a focal point of visitor activity on the island.
Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the recognition reflected the contribution of tourism workers and businesses that relied on sustained visitor arrivals.
She said tourism continued to support various sectors, including transport, accommodation and small enterprises.
White Beach stretched about four kilometers along the western coast of Boracay and was divided into Stations 1, 2 and 3, catering to different types of travelers.
