The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is continuing operations to locate and arrest individuals still at large in connection with flood control-related cases following the implementation of court-issued warrants.

PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said police units have been deployed to ensure the remaining accused are tracked down and brought into custody.

Among those facing charges is former lawmaker turned fugitive Zaldy Co, who was named in a graft and malversation case tied to an allegedly irregular flood control project in Oriental Mindoro.

Authorities said Co is believed to have left the country after the controversy surfaced, though verification of his whereabouts is ongoing.

The PNP also assisted in the enforcement of a warrant against contractor Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya, coordinating with Senate officials during the implementation of a Bulacan court order.

Nartatez said the arrest was carried out in line with legal procedures and in close coordination with the Senate to ensure an orderly turnover.

He stressed that all persons covered by warrants will be treated equally, adding there will be no special treatment for any accused.

The PNP said follow-up operations remain ongoing as other co-accused in the flood control cases are still being located.
