As the countdown to the new school year begins, One Meralco Foundation (OMF) is helping public schools across Luzon open their doors to students with safer, cleaner, and more learning-ready facilities.

Led by the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led social development arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), OMF participated in the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2026 from June 1 to 5, mobilizing employee volunteers to support school preparation efforts in communities served by the power distributor.

At Bagong Ilog Elementary School in Pasig City, Meralco and OMF volunteers turned community spirit into action by donating LED lights, painting supplies, and cleaning materials while carrying out electrical safety inspections to help ensure a secure learning environment. Volunteers also rolled up their sleeves to repaint school chairs and assist in campus improvement activities.

The initiative extended beyond Pasig, reaching public schools in Marikina City, Las Piñas City, Sampaloc and Tondo in Manila, Dasmariñas City, Tagaytay City, Indang and Mendez in Cavite, Biñan City in Laguna, and Talisay in Batangas.

By supporting Brigada Eskwela, OMF continues to champion education and community empowerment, helping schools become more resilient, energy-efficient, and welcoming spaces where students can learn and thrive.

The annual effort reflects the Foundation’s commitment to building stronger communities—one classroom, one school, and one student at a time.
