Authorities seized an estimated Php 3.45-million worth of cigarettes and arrested one person during an anti-smuggling operation in Palawan, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.
The operation was carried out around 1:10 a.m. on April 28, 2026 in Sitio Padang, Barangay Pulot Shore, Sofronio Española.
Police identified the suspect as facing a possible violation of Republic Act 10643, pending further investigation.
Recovered items included 82 master cases of assorted cigarettes and buy-bust money used during the operation.
The suspect and the confiscated goods were brought to the custody of the Sofronio Española Municipal Police Station for documentation and case disposition.
