Authorities arrested a suspected high-value drug personality and recovered approximately P2.3 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation here on Wednesday.
Major Geremy Ian Magbanua, Chief of the San Jose de Buenavista Police, identified the suspect as 38-year-old “Mokie,” a resident of Barangay Funda-Dalipe.
Magbanua classified the suspect as a high-value individual (HVI) due to the scale of his alleged transactions.
The joint operation—conducted by the San Jose Municipal Police Station, the Antique Provincial Police Office, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)—yielded 340 grams of the illegal substance.
Police also impounded a rented vehicle reportedly used by the suspect.
According to investigators, the arrest followed nearly six months of surveillance. Preliminary findings suggest the drug supply originated from Iloilo.
The operation comes on the heels of another significant drug bust last week, where local police seized P1.3 million worth of shabu from two individuals at a local resto-bar.
“We call on other drug pushers to stop their illegal activities because the police will really run after them,” Magbanua said in a statement on Thursday.
The suspect is currently in police custody and faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
