Police arrested 160 people in a regionwide crackdown carried out across Cagayan Valley from Feb. 5 to 11, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday.

The weeklong operations, led by Police Regional Office 2, focused on simultaneous anti-criminality and law enforcement actions conducted in multiple provinces and municipalities.

Authorities said 100 of those arrested were wanted persons, including 10 individuals listed as top most wanted, who were apprehended in separate manhunt operations.

Anti-drug teams also arrested 17 suspects in 14 operations, seizing about 56.82 grams of shabu valued at Php 357,055 during buy-busts and search-warrant operations in identified drug-affected areas.

Police said 28 people were arrested in seven operations against illegal gambling, while six others were taken into custody for violations of the firearms law, with six guns confiscated and 31 additional firearms voluntarily surrendered.

Operations against environmental crimes resulted in nine arrests and the seizure of nearly 2,000 board feet of illegally cut lumber worth about Php 190,000, authorities said.
