The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is exploring ways to support the logistics and e-commerce operations of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, aiming to ensure a steady supply of fresh and affordable produce to Filipino households.
In a statement released Friday, Postmaster General Luis Carlos emphasized that the initiative not only benefits consumers but also uplifts local farmers.
“We’re doing more than just moving agricultural goods — we’re empowering farmers and improving lives by making food more accessible and sustainable,” Carlos said.
He noted that PHLPost plans to use its wide-reaching network, including remote and urban areas, to connect producers directly with consumers.
Although no formal agreement has been signed yet, PHLPost expressed strong interest in helping farmers bring their products directly to market, enabling them to earn more by cutting out middlemen.
Every Friday, PHLPost hosts a Kadiwa ng Pangulo market at the Manila Central Post Office Annex II in Liwasang Bonifacio, as part of a memorandum of understanding signed with the Department of Agriculture in April.
The initiative also features the PHP20 Rice Project, which offers high-quality rice at just PHP20 per kilogram to specific sectors — including indigent families, senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities. Qualified beneficiaries can buy up to 30 kilograms of rice each month.
