The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that the Philippine eVisa operations in China officially resumed with a soft launch on Saturday. Full implementation by the Philippine Embassy in Beijing and other foreign service posts in China will begin on November 3.
Under the new system, Chinese nationals from mainland China, Macau, and Hong Kong may apply for eVisas for tourism and business purposes, as long as they enter through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila or the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Cebu.
The eVisa is valid for a single, non-extendable, and non-convertible 14-day stay.
Chinese nationals and other eligible foreign residents in China may also apply for conventional (sticker) visas through VFS Global’s Visa Application Centers (VACs) in Beijing, Chongqing, Fuzhou, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.
Online eVisa applications may be filed through these sites:
Mainland China: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/chn/en/phl
Hong Kong and Macau: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/hkg/en/phl
The DFA partnered with VFS Global to manage the online platform, ensure complete submission of documents, and transmit applications to Philippine posts for evaluation and issuance.
Developed with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, the eVisa system has been in use since 2024 in select foreign posts across the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
According to the DFA, the program supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to streamline government processes, promote tourism, advance digitalization, and boost tourist arrivals in the Philippines.
“It is also in line with the country’s continuing efforts to enhance people-to-people exchanges and facilitate trade and tourism cooperation,” it said.
