The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is partnering with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and local government units (LGUs) in Ilocos Norte to achieve its goal of 100-percent membership coverage.
PhilHealth aims to improve healthcare access in the province by working closely with other government agencies to assist in membership registration while ensuring data accuracy and consistency, according to Eduardo Dulatre, PhilHealth chief social insurance officer in Ilocos Norte.
Republic Act 11223 mandates universal health coverage for all Filipinos, and registration with PhilHealth is required to avail of its benefits.
“Based on our projection data, Ilocos Norte has 85-percent population coverage composed of members and their registered dependents,” Dulatre said in an interview Tuesday.
To ensure that no one is left behind, PhilHealth has launched the initiative “Tan-ok ni Ilokano Towards Universal Health Care Coverage,” which aims to provide better access to healthcare services.
Through this program, members can avail of benefits under the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) package, which offers comprehensive primary healthcare services. These include consultations, health risk screenings, laboratory and diagnostic tests, as well as affordable drugs and medicines.
