The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has distributed more than ₱16 million in cash rewards to 19 civilian informants whose timely and accurate information led to a series of high-impact anti-drug operations across the nation.
The massive payout, conducted on November 28 under the agency’s Operation: Private Eye (OPE) incentive program, serves as a major recognition of public participation in the government’s war on drugs.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez confirmed that the crucial tips from the informants fueled 22 major operations, successfully dismantling significant drug networks, seizing large quantities of illegal narcotics, and resulting in the arrest of high-value suspects.
Seven of the nineteen informants received the highest individual rewards, each claiming ₱2 million for providing intelligence that directly led to substantial drug seizures between May and October 2025.
These operations included some of the biggest busts of the year, such as the seizure of a staggering 1.48-ton shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) haul in Subic, as well as the recovery of nearly 895 kilograms of the illegal substance in Pangasinan. The informants’ contributions also facilitated successful operations in Laguna, Zamboanga City, Batangas City, Olongapo, and Angeles City.
Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Chairman Secretary Oscar F. Valenzuela, who was the guest of honor at the awarding ceremony, commended the informants for their courage.
“We, on behalf of the Dangerous Drugs Board, salute our partners, informants, and law enforcers,” Valenzuela said, emphasizing that their vital work often comes with personal risk.
He reiterated that a successful national anti-drug campaign requires broad public participation while upholding human rights and public safety standards.
