The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said severe Tropical Storm Kristine will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today.
The weather agency forecasted the storm’s expected exit within PAR as either this afternoon or this evening. At 3 AM, the eye of the storm was outside the country, located 120 km west of Bacnotan, La Union.
According to the bulletin, Kristine’s wind poses a great threat to certain areas, as local winds may be slightly stronger in coastal, upland, or mountainous areas exposed to winds.
The current location of the eye of the storm is estimated to be 255 km West Northwest of Bacnotan, La Union, or 255 km West Southwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur. It is moving West Northwestward at 15 km/h, generating sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h.
