A helicopter of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) crashed on Tuesday, November 4, in the province of Agusan del Sur while carrying out relief operations amid the impact of Typhoon Tino.
The aircraft, identified as a “Super Huey” helicopter, was en route to provide humanitarian-assistance and disaster relief (HADR) when it went down near the municipality of Loreto in the eastern part of the province.
According to the military’s Eastern Mindanao Command, contact with the helicopter was lost while on mission. A search and rescue operation is currently underway to determine the fate of the crew and find the cause of the incident.
Further details, including the number of personnel aboard, their condition and what triggered the crash, have yet to be verified and will be released by the Air Force once investigation findings are available.
