Police arrested two suspects, tagged as high-value individuals, and seized more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City.
In a report, Southern Police District director, Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang, said the suspects, identified as alias Alvin, 27, and alias Miracle, 15, were arrested shortly after midnight on Tuesday, November 5, in a Taguig mall parking lot.
The two suspects were found with 600 grams of alleged “shabu” or crystal methamphetamine worth about P4.08 million. Authorities also seized buy-bust money, a 9mm caliber firearm with an inserted magazine and live ammunition from alias Alvin, and a mobile phone.
The suspects will face charges for violating Section 5 and Section 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act), as well as Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms.
BGen. Yang commended the operating teams and stated that the Southern Police District will continue to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs, targeting drug peddlers who act as conduits for these substances. “What we have to stop is the network of the supply of illegal drugs in the community,” he said.
