Authorities confiscated more than 2 kilos of suspected shabu worth ₱16 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Guindapunan, Palo, Leyte, believed to be intended for distribution in Cebu.
In a statement, PDEA said the Friday operation yielded 21 packs of shabu weighing about 2.4 kilograms, along with buy-bust money, two digital weighing scales, two mobile phones, and other non-drug items.
Two suspects were arrested: alias Ana, 23, the target of the operation, and her live-in partner alias Buding, 34. Both are fruit vendors from Barangay Poblacion 6, Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
The seized drugs have been turned over to the PDEA-8 laboratory for chemical analysis, while the suspects are detained at the agency’s regional facility.
Selling dangerous drugs, regardless of quantity, is punishable by life imprisonment and a fine of ₱500,000 to ₱10 million under Philippine law.
