TACLOBAN CITY – Thousands of employment opportunities were made available to jobseekers during the “Tara, Trabaho G! Mega Jobs Fair” held at the Tacloban City Convention Center on Saturday, October 10.
The event, organized by the Department of Labor and Employment in Eastern Visayas (DOLE-8) in partnership with the Office of Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian, brought together 34 private companies offering at least 2,668 job vacancies.
Jobseekers began arriving early at the venue to explore available positions, submit applications and connect with prospective employers.
The job fair featured both local and overseas employment opportunities, allowing applicants to identify positions that matched their qualifications, skills and career interests.
The initiative aimed to make employment opportunities more accessible by gathering multiple employers in one location, reducing the need for applicants to visit individual companies.
Through the event, participating employers were able to engage directly with prospective workers and provide information about available positions and application requirements.
DOLE-8’s job fair formed part of efforts to strengthen employment facilitation and connect jobseekers in Eastern Visayas with potential career opportunities.
The activity also highlighted cooperation between government agencies and private employers in addressing employment needs and expanding access to livelihood opportunities in the region.
