Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Thursday that additional cases related to flood control projects are being prepared by his office, signaling more legal actions in the coming months.
Remulla said numerous complaints are expected to be filed, indicating that the pace of cases will intensify during the dry season.
“Marami, marami ‘yan. Marami susunod ‘yan. Itong tag-init, iinit,” he said.
He declined to provide a specific timeline but maintained that more developments are forthcoming.
The Ombudsman said the volume of cases would increase, suggesting a continued focus on alleged irregularities in infrastructure projects.
Since the investigation began in September 2024, prosecutors have already filed several batches of cases tied to flood control works.
These include charges of graft and malversation against former Ako Bicol party-list representative Elizaldy Co and others over a Php 289 million road dike project in Oriental Mindoro.
Separate complaints were also filed against contractor Sarah Discaya involving a Php 96.5 million project in Davao Occidental, as well as against Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. and several others over an alleged Php 92.8 million project in Bulacan.
Remulla, who assumed office in October 2025, said the agency would continue pursuing cases as part of its mandate to address corruption in public works projects.
