The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has urged families across CALABARZON to prepare emergency go bags and practice water conservation as part of efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness in the region.
The advisory, shared by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) CALABARZON, emphasizes the importance of household readiness for emergencies and potential disruptions to essential services.
Residents are encouraged to prepare go bags containing drinking water, ready-to-eat food, medicines, flashlights, batteries, important documents, hygiene supplies, and other emergency necessities.
Families are also advised to establish evacuation plans, identify safe locations, and stay informed about weather disturbances and other potential hazards.
Meanwhile, the OCD emphasized the importance of conserving water to help households prepare for possible supply shortages, particularly during periods of prolonged dry weather.
Simple conservation measures include repairing leaking faucets, avoiding unnecessary water use, and storing sufficient clean water for essential household needs.
The agency also encouraged residents to follow official advisories from local disaster risk reduction and management offices and other government authorities.
The reminder underscores the importance of early preparation and responsible resource management in protecting communities from the effects of natural disasters.
