Government disaster agencies sent a convoy of relief supplies to Bulacan on Friday as assistance operations expanded in areas affected by successive tropical cyclones and southwest monsoon rains.
Ten trucks were mobilized to carry supplies for residents of Pulilan, Calumpit, Hagonoy, Paombong and Bulakan, according to the Office of Civil Defense.
The assistance package for each municipality consisted of 160 bags of rice, 450 bottles of drinking water and 112 hygiene kits.
Armed Forces of the Philippines vehicles transported the supplies, while Philippine Coast Guard personnel helped prepare and move relief items from storage facilities at Camp Aguinaldo.
OCD Administrator Harold Cabreros oversaw the departure of the convoy from the agency’s new administration building in Quezon City.
The mission followed the impact of tropical cyclones Luis, Maymay and Neneng, along with the enhanced southwest monsoon, which affected communities across Bulacan.
Cabreros said the deployment formed part of continuing government response operations ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro.
The OCD was also preparing relief missions for Bataan, Nueva Ecija and Pampanga, extending assistance to other provinces affected by the recent severe weather.
