No. 2 Cordillera most wanted arrested in Mountain Province

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested the No. 2 most wanted person in the Cordillera Administrative Region during an operation in Tadian, Mountain Province, on July 14.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Botsing,” 34, was apprehended by personnel of the Tadian Municipal Police Station and other police units in Barangay Kayan East.

Police said the arrest was carried out through a warrant issued by the Family Court in Bontoc, Mountain Province, over charges of qualified rape and rape through sexual assault.

The court did not recommend bail for the qualified rape case, while bail was set at Php 300,000 for the rape through sexual assault charge.

Authorities brought the suspect to the Tadian Municipal Police Station for documentation before turning him over to the court.

PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez said the arrest reflected the importance of coordinated police operations in locating individuals facing criminal charges.

He said the PNP remains committed to serving arrest warrants through lawful procedures while ensuring respect for due process.

The PNP added that the operation forms part of its intensified law enforcement campaign under its focused agenda to improve public safety through coordinated and intelligence driven police operations.
