New year, longer strides as DailyFix Power Run adds 16K challenge

A first finish line, a faster time or a longer distance—whatever the goal, DailyFix Power Run is giving runners more reasons to lace up and start 2027 on the move.

Returning on January 10, 2027, at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, the event introduces a 16K category for participants ready to take their endurance further. Organized in partnership with RunRio, its second edition builds on an inaugural race that drew 5,000 runners in January 2026.

The expanded lineup brings together five categories—16K, 10K, 5K, 3K and 1K Dog—with options for experienced runners, newcomers, families and participants bringing their four-legged companions.

For runners looking to progress beyond 10K, the new 16K distance offers a fresh target. The shorter categories provide accessible starting points for those building a fitness routine, returning to running or joining an organized race for the first time.

The 1K Dog category, meanwhile, gives fur parents a chance to share the experience with their pets.

Beyond expanding the distances, DailyFix hopes to turn the event into a start-of-year tradition built around movement, community and personal milestones.

“The success of our first Power Run from the 5,000 registrants to the overwhelmingly positive response from the community–gave us the confidence to come back bigger,” said Abigail Ng-Reyes, vice president for marketing at Fly Ace Corporation.

That momentum comes from participants whose victories went beyond the race clock.

One first-time participant, a self-described non-runner, said they signed up “mostly for fun and to try something new, with zero expectations,” but finished feeling proud and motivated to return. Another participant, Kristine Dela Cruz, described the event as a “must-join” run for the following year.

Those experiences reflect the welcoming atmosphere DailyFix aims to carry into its second staging: a space where setting a personal best and simply reaching the finish line are both worth celebrating.

“You don’t have to be a seasoned runner to be part of it. Sometimes, all it takes is showing up, taking that first step and seeing where it takes you,” Ng-Reyes said.

The partnership with RunRio brings event-organizing expertise to the race as DailyFix broadens its platform for active living.

The brand also connects the event with everyday habits, positioning its granola and trail mix selections as convenient breakfast and snack options around an active day. Its granola flavors include Strawberry & Yogurt, Berry Special, Very Nutty and Dark Choco Decadence. Trail mix choices include Nutty & Nice, Cranberry Yogurt Delight, Almond & Dark Chocolate Deluxe, Pecan & Cashew, and Choco Hazelnut Heaven.

For participants, however, the immediate goal is straightforward: choose a distance, commit to the start line and give the new year a running start.
