The graduation ceremony, held on November 19 at the WMO/PAGASA Regional Training Center in Quezon City, marked the culmination of months of intensive instruction in weather observation, forecasting support, instrumentation, and climate monitoring.

Former Officer-in-Charge Dr. Esperanza O. Cayanan graced the event as the guest of honor, joining top PAGASA officials who celebrated the achievement of the graduates. Leaders from operations, administration, engineering, and research extended their encouragement, highlighting the crucial role these trainees will play in delivering accurate and timely weather information to the public.

In the keynote address, DOST-PAGASA leadership underscored the responsibility carried by the graduates as frontliners in protecting communities from severe weather and the escalating threats brought by climate change. The agency also recognized the dedication of the training staff and lecturers who guided the trainees through the rigorous program.

With their certification completed, the new technicians will now be deployed to various PAGASA stations nationwide, strengthening the agency’s capabilities in weather and climate monitoring and ensuring improved delivery of public service, especially during critical weather events.
