New NCRPO chief launches “Able, Active, and Allied” policing strategy

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) officially welcomed Police Brigadier General Anthony A. Aberin as its incoming Acting Regional Director during a ceremonial assumption of office on Monday at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

The ceremony, presided over by Police Liutenant General Michael John F. Dubria, the acting deputy chief of operations of the Philippine National Police (PNP), marked a seamless transition in leadership.

Dubria commended Aberin’s extensive experience and unwavering leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the NCRPO toward more significant accomplishments.

As Aberin assumes the helm of NCRPO, his leadership will be anchored on his “AAA” framework, emphasizing that the police force and all its members should be Able, Active, and Allied police officers.

This strategy puts premium on competence, reliability and accessibility of police services, giving priority on equipping personnel with skills, resources, technology, and transparency in the performance of duty.

His proactive strategy embarks substantially on intelligence-driven operations against crimes, coupled with enhanced police presence and visibility as the cornerstones of crime prevention and solution.

His approach in law enforcement is simple. All police personnel should adhere to the police operational procedures in all police undertakings.

“I believe that to properly carry out our tasks, we need to get back to basics and concentrate on crime prevention and solution. Let us always be reminded of our fundamental duty as law enforcers: to prevent crime and solve crimes,” he stated in his acceptance speech

Aberin issued a stern warning that while the welfare of police personnel is paramount, NCRPO will never tolerate any deviations from the rules and regulations. Those who violate will be penalized but due process of law will strictly be afforded to everyone.

Aberin highlighted the importance of a strong, consistent and strategic partnership with other government agencies, private sector, the media and most specially, the community at large in our collective pursuit for peace and security.

In alignment with the Chief PNP’s mantra, “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas Ka,” Aberom called for a return to crime prevention and resolution fundamentals.

He urged NCRPO personnel to fulfill their duty to protect and serve with dedication and professionalism.

Aberin, a distinguished graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) “Tagapaglunsad” Class of 1993, has built an impressive career in the Philippine National Police (PNP). His journey in law enforcement is defined by his exemplary service in various critical leadership roles.

As Director of the PNP Aviation Security Group, he enhanced aviation safety and security through stringent protocols and proactive measures, safeguarding airports nationwide.

His adaptability and strategic insight were evident during his tenure as Commander of the Tawi-Tawi Police Provincial Office, where he addressed maritime threats and insurgency challenges while fostering community relations.

His stint in the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) showcased his ability to investigate of high-profile cases, dismantle private armed groups and combat all forms of criminality. In 2023, Aberin served as Director of Police Regional Office 7 (PRO-7) in Central Visayas, focusing on significant reduction of illegal drugs trade, effectively dismantling threat groups, loose firearms and illegal gambling. More importantly, his unique crime prevention strategy led to the consistent decline of crime occurrence resulting in a safer and more secure Central Visayas.
