The League of Filipino Actors, known as Aktor, has unveiled its new digital home—aktor.ph—an ambitious online database designed to showcase and support the country’s vast pool of professional performers.
This milestone marks a significant step toward the group’s broader mission: to uplift and unify Filipino artists under a banner of professionalism, dignity, and pride. Dingdong Dantes, prominent actor and chairman of Aktor, emphasized the deeper purpose behind the initiative.
“Our collective dream, from day one, has been to foster a strong, empowered community of Filipino actors,” Dantes said in a recent interview. “Even though it’s been five years since Aktor was founded in 2020, it still feels like we’re just getting started. There’s an exciting energy of new beginnings.”
The new platform acts not just as a directory, but as a digital space where actors’ profiles, portfolios, and credentials can be easily accessed by industry stakeholders—casting directors, producers, and collaborators—making it easier to discover and connect with local talent.
Actress Iza Calzado, one of the founding members, expressed pride in the group’s growth. “What started as a meeting of 26 actors during the early months of the pandemic has now grown into a thriving community of over 300 members,” she shared.
“This isn’t just about building an organization—it’s about creating a true artistic family. To see that vision taking shape, to witness a community where artists lift each other up, is beyond rewarding. It’s the fulfillment of something we deeply believed in,” Calzado added.
With aktor.ph, the organization is not only making Filipino talent more visible, but also laying the groundwork for a more collaborative and future-forward entertainment industry in the Philippines.
