Police cornered Metro Manila’s most wanted suspect in a manhunt operation in Capiz, dealing a blow to high-value fugitives on the run.
The arrest was carried out in Ivisan town on June 1 by highway patrol units acting on intelligence leads.
Authorities said the suspect topped multiple watchlists, including the NCR, provincial, municipal, and Highway Patrol Group most wanted rankings.
A Taguig court had issued arrest warrants for carnapping and murder, both carrying no bail.
The operation formed part of an intensified campaign to track down fugitives facing serious criminal charges.
Police said coordinated fieldwork and intelligence sharing led to the suspect’s location outside Metro Manila.
The individual was brought to a local police unit for processing before transfer to the issuing court.
PNP chief General Jose Nartatez said authorities would keep hunting down fugitives, warning that those evading justice will eventually be caught.
