Stephen Curry hit a three-pointer with 47 seconds left to lift the Golden State Warriors to a 116-115 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in the NBA.
More notably, Curry’s performance moved him closer to becoming the 16th player in NBA history to record 300 career 30-point games, surpassing Hall of Fame guard George Gervin, according to Basketball Reference’s Stathead.
Curry finished with 31 points, eight assists, and seven three-pointers, continuing his stellar play for the Warriors. His big three in the final minute gave Golden State a 111-108 lead.
With his 298th career 30-point game, Curry is just two games shy of reaching 300. The win improved the Warriors to 20-20 on the season, moving them one game ahead of Minnesota in the Western Conference standings.
The 36-year-old Curry is averaging 22.9 points, 6.2 assists, and five rebounds per game in 32 appearances this season.
