BAGUIO CITY – The Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) on Tuesday said three more residential lessees have signed deals with the government for longer stay inside Camp John Hay.
New 25-year residential lease agreements involving a 427-square-meter country estate unit, a 449 sqm country homes unit and a 275 sqm forest cabin were signed on Jan. 16 and 17, according to vice president for BCDA Public Affairs Leilani Barlongay-Macasaet, in a statement sent to the Philippine News Agency.
BCDA is the sole entity that manages the former United States military rest and recreation facility following the takeover from the former developer of about 240 hectares of prime property in the first week of January, in accordance with a Supreme Court decision.
In the past weeks, BCDA signed a 15-year commercial lease agreement for more than 1,500 sqm with Amare La Cucina, Baguio’s pizza chain.
In the pipeline are lease agreements with Top Taste and Trading Inc., a specialty cafe and restaurant, for an 800 sqm property, and Metro Pacific Investment Corporation for a fresh 25-year residential lease contract for two forest cabin units.
In December, Stern Real Estate and Development Corporation also signed a 25-year commercial lease to continue the operations of Le Monet Hotel and Filling Station.
The MVP Group-led Landco Pacific got in for the interim management of The Manor, Forest Lodge and CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center.
A new consortium consisting of Golfplus Management Inc., the operations team behind the driving ranges in premium estates Nuvali and Alviera, and DuckWorld PH, a sports management agency, was also formed to oversee the operations and maintenance of the Camp John Hay golf course during an interim period.
“This development is a step ahead of realizing our vision for Camp John Hay as a community where businesses and people thrive — all while ensuring that the area’s forests are protected and preserved,” BCDA president and chief executive officer Joshua Bingcang said in a press release. (PNA)
