Friendships forged in the most unlikely places often end up being the most genuine—and that’s exactly what happened inside the Pinoy Big Brother house.

Though Michael Sager’s stay on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition was short-lived, it turned out to be enough time to build real connections that have continued to thrive beyond the reality show’s walls. One of the most unexpected—but heartwarming—outcomes was his newfound friendship with Jhoanna Robles and Stacey Sevilleja, members of the hit P-pop girl group BINI.

In a recent interview with GMA News Online, Michael opened up about how these relationships unfolded—and why they’ve stuck.

A fan first, a friend later
Long before stepping foot into the PBB house, Michael was already a fan of BINI. So when Jhoanna and Stacey entered as guest housemates, the Sparkle actor was admittedly starstruck.

“There was a task involving cardboard standees of the BINI girls, and I remember thinking even then how captivating they were,” Michael shared. “When we finally met in person, I suggested a jump shot for our first photo together. That broke the ice, and I realized they weren’t just idols—they were incredibly down-to-earth and game for anything.”

That spontaneity sparked the beginning of a genuine friendship, built not on fanfare but on shared laughter, energy, and authenticity.

The power of being real
Reality TV environments can be tough when it comes to forging real connections, Michael admitted. But there was something different about Jhoanna and Stacey.

“In the house, it was hard to know who was being real. But with them, it was easy—they were sincere from day one,” he said. “That’s what I look for in friendships: people who aren’t putting up a front.”

Their group dynamic, which also included fellow housemate Emilio Daez, quickly became a source of comfort for Michael. Together, the four formed a tight-knit squad—sharing stories, tasks, and inside jokes as they navigated the unique pressures of televised life.

A bowling promise and real-world bonds
Unlike many reality show relationships that fizzle out once filming ends, Michael and his new friends were determined to keep their bond alive. Before Jhoanna and Stacey’s guest stint ended, the group made a pinky promise: they’d go bowling together after the show.

That promise was fulfilled almost immediately.

“Just a day after they left the house, we found ourselves at a bowling alley. No cameras, no pressure, just friends hanging out like normal people,” Michael recalled. “It was a great feeling—to know it wasn’t just for show.”

Their mini reunion didn’t stop there. The four even filmed light-hearted TikTok challenges and shared meals at fast food spots—simple yet meaningful moments that underscored how real their connection had become.

More than just co-stars
Today, Michael counts Jhoanna and Stacey among the best people he’s met—not just in showbiz, but in life.

“There’s something special about meeting people in such a high-pressure environment and still finding something real,” he said. “They’re not just talented artists; they’re kind, funny, and genuine. I’m lucky to call them friends.”

As the curtain closes on his PBB chapter, Michael’s story reminds us that sometimes, reality TV’s greatest reward isn’t fame or exposure—it’s finding your people when you least expect it.
