Metro Supermarket showcases its updated selection of Christmas baskets and Noche Buena essentials for the holiday season.
As Filipino families gear up for the year’s busiest and most festive season, Metro Retail Stores Group, Inc. (MRSGI) is stepping into the holidays with expanded assortments and shopper-friendly options across its supermarket and department store network. This year’s holiday lineup is designed around a growing preference for meaningful celebrations that balance tradition, value, and convenience.
MRSGI President and COO Joselito Orense said shoppers are approaching the season with greater intention, prioritizing essentials and well-curated choices that allow families to celebrate without straining their budgets. He noted that Metro’s holiday push is focused on making the season more accessible and enjoyable, offering flexibility across price points while maintaining quality and variety.
Inside Metro Supermarket, customers will find a broader selection of holiday food essentials, ranging from everyday staples to Noche Buena favorites. Shelves are stocked with expanded options in pasta sets, condiments, canned goods, and seasonal ingredients, catering to both intimate family dinners and larger holiday gatherings.

The retailer has also brought back its Christmas basket selections, refreshed with updated configurations suited for personal gifting and corporate giving, and supported by in-store promotions that add value during peak shopping weeks. To give shoppers more choice, Metro is offering multiple price tiers, including private-label products exclusive to the chain.
Meanwhile, Metro Department Store is embracing the festive mood with refreshed holiday displays featuring apparel, accessories, footwear, and giftable items for all ages. The season highlights Metro’s in-house brands such as Avenue, Maco, and Blue Camp, alongside curated collections that transition easily from holiday occasions to everyday wear. For last-minute shoppers, the P100 Deals To Love initiative offers easy-to-spot gift options placed across high-traffic areas of the store.
Home shoppers are also in focus this season, with Metro rolling out Home Holiday Bundles that group small appliances ideal for gifting, as well as Furniture Solutions for Compact Modern Spaces. These selections cater to condominium dwellers and smaller households, featuring modular storage, space-saving tables, compact sofa sets, and themed décor displays that make it easier to visualize complete setups.
To keep the holiday rush manageable, Metro is extending store hours in major branches and enhancing its rewards-driven promotions. Shoppers can earn entries to the Wish Upon a Car e-raffle with every P1,500 purchase, with additional chances through Metro Rewards Club membership, BPI debit or credit card use, and select supermarket items.
Metro Gift Certificates, available in P500 and P1,000 denominations, are also being positioned as practical and flexible gift options, allowing recipients to choose what best suits their needs.
Members of the Metro Rewards Club can enjoy added perks through renewal incentives and partner offers, earning more savings and points across food, apparel, and home purchases during the season.
MRSGI said the holidays remain one of its strongest periods across all store formats, driven by food preparation, home refreshes, and value-oriented gift buying. This year’s holiday assortment, Orense emphasized, is meant to reflect what Filipino families are looking for most: meaningful options that fit their budgets and a shopping experience that feels seamless from start to finish.
