The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced a 17.52% reduction in weekly crimes on Monday.
Between November 24 and 30, the NCRPO recorded 1,991 crime incidents, down from 2,414 during the previous week (November 17 to 23).
In addition to decreasing crime incidents, the NCRPO ramped up operations targeting wanted individuals, resulting in the arrest of 337 suspects, including 137 of the region’s most wanted and 200 others.
The NCRPO also strengthened its anti-illegal drug efforts, seizing 4.7 kilograms of shabu, 167.65 grams of marijuana, and 11.87 grams of kush, with a total street value of P32.3 million. In 181 operations, 287 drug suspects were arrested.
Furthermore, 187 anti-illegal gambling operations led to the arrest of 449 offenders and the confiscation of P114,000 worth of gambling paraphernalia and proceeds.
As part of security measures for the 2025 midterm elections, the NCRPO also confiscated 25 unlicensed firearms.
