The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) officially ushered in the holiday season with the much-awaited lighting of Liwanag Park at the Meralco Operating Center in Pasig City — an annual event that has grown into a cherished Filipino Christmas tradition.
This year’s celebration, themed A Brighter Christmas for All, once again transformed the iconic Lopez Building into a canvas of light and color, highlighted by a breathtaking 3D mapping show powered by Panasonic technology.
The display, now a signature attraction of the park, draws thousands of families each year who come to witness the spectacle and feel the spirit of a truly Filipino Pasko.
Liwanag Park has long embodied Meralco’s commitment to community, sustainability, and joyful holiday storytelling. Many of its centerpiece installations were crafted from repurposed and energy-efficient materials — from a towering 45-foot Christmas tree built with recycled components, to small houses made of copper wires, to tunnels illuminated by LED bulbs set inside reclaimed meter covers.
The giant belen, lovingly constructed to honor the nativity story, remains one of the most photographed symbols of the park and a reminder of the deep faith that defines the Filipino Christmas.
Beyond the lights, the park offers experiences that have become part of the holiday tradition for families: the nostalgic tranvia ride, roaming displays, interactive attractions for children, and open spaces where grandparents, parents, and kids can enjoy simple moments together.
Over the years, Liwanag Park has become more than a seasonal attraction — it has grown into a place where stories are made, where togetherness is celebrated, and where the brightness of the season is shared freely with the public.
Liwanag Park is open to everyone from December 1 to 23, 2025, between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., and from December 24 to 31, 2025, from 6 p.m. until midnight. Admission is free, with guests encouraged to observe safety guidelines while enjoying the park.
In keeping with its message of A Brighter Christmas for All, Meralco continues the tradition of illuminating not only the cityscape but also the hearts of Filipinos during the season of hope and togetherness.
