Meralco Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer Maria Luisa V. Alvendia has earned a spot on Supply Chain Digital’s prestigious Top 100 Women 2025 list, recognizing trailblazing women transforming global supply chains.
Alvendia, the only Filipino woman on the list, was honored for her decades-long leadership and innovation in procurement and logistics. With over 30 years of experience, she has led initiatives that modernize supply chain systems while embedding sustainability into the core of Meralco’s operations.
As CSCO of the Philippines’ largest electric distribution utility, Alvendia has championed procurement transformation and global best practices. Her efforts culminated in the creation of the Meralco Supplier Sustainability Scorecard (MS3)—a tool assessing suppliers against key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics, aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals and GRI Standards. MS3 was recently awarded Gold in the “Building Sustainable Supply Chains” category at the 2024 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
“This recognition highlights how supply chain management can drive operational success and corporate responsibility,” Alvendia said. “As technology and sustainability reshape our industry, we must adapt with resilience and purpose.”
Her leadership continues to inspire a shift toward more responsible, future-ready supply chains—both in Meralco and across the industry.
