CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has provided assurances to motorists in Northern Mindanao regarding the availability of a sufficient supply of license plates for both four-wheel vehicles and motorcycles.
In a radio interview conducted on Thursday, LTO-Region 10 spokesperson Ferdinand Flores stated that license plates have been secured and are being distributed to car dealerships throughout the region.
“The plates are designated for newly registered vehicles. This measure aims to promote adherence to regulatory requirements,” Mr. Flores remarked.
He further indicated that the LTO’s national headquarters has produced over nine million plates this year, of which a portion has been allocated to Northern Mindanao.
Additionally, the LTO has indefinitely suspended the issuance and utilization of improvised or temporary plates, citing concerns that a number of vehicle owners neglect to collect their original license plates from dealerships.
“The suspension of improvised and temporary plates is intended to ensure that vehicle owners adhere to the proper procedures and retrieve their original plates,” Mr. Flores explained.
This initiative forms part of the LTO’s continuous efforts to streamline operations and enforce policies aimed at enhancing road safety and compliance.
