The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region 3 issued a Special Notice of Compliance to the Municipality of Castillejos on March 4, 2026, recognizing its approved Local Public Transport Route Plan.
Castillejos is the second municipality in Zambales to receive the compliance notice, marking a step toward improving public transport organization and efficiency in the province.
The notice aligns with government directives to assist local government units in developing and implementing their local transport route plans under the Public Transport Modernization Program.
Local Public Transport Route Plans are intended to review and rationalize existing routes, improve service coverage, and enhance commuter experience within municipalities.
The awarding ceremony took place at the FITS Center, Agricultural Office in Barangay San Juan, Castillejos. The notice was presented by Jude Laxa, OIC Transport Development Officer II, and Reckzis De Lara, Planning Officer III of LTFRB Region 3.
Vice Mayor Christian Esposo accepted the notice on behalf of the municipality, accompanied by Municipal Administrator Gregorio Lappay and Municipal Engineer Enrique Clarin.
Vice Mayor Esposo said the municipality plans to formally adopt the approved route plan through a local ordinance to ensure its implementation.
LTFRB Region 3 noted the municipality’s compliance and cooperation, emphasizing that coordination between local governments and the agency contributes to more organized and efficient public transport systems.
