The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced Tuesday that it will implement a four-day onsite work arrangement as part of government efforts to conserve energy amid rising fuel prices linked to tensions in the Middle East.

In a statement, the agency said the setup will apply to non-frontline employees assigned at the Light Rail Transit Line 2.

Under the arrangement, affected personnel were scheduled to report physically from Monday to Thursday.

Work-from-home arrangements were set for Fridays for employees covered by the new schedule.

The LRTA said the measure aims to support broader energy conservation initiatives being implemented across government offices.

Despite the change in work setup, the agency assured the public that train services and frontline operations will continue without disruption.

Officials said the authority remains committed to maintaining efficient and reliable service for commuters while supporting sustainability efforts.

The announcement followed the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordering executive branch offices to adopt a four-day workweek beginning March 9 to help reduce fuel consumption.
